Thank you all for coming to Gavin Gardner's Relief Sculpture Demo last night!

Gavin showed us many techniques and kindly answered all the questions we had for him.

Ones he fills, he starts to work on some details

He did this within 3 hours!

Relief offers the qualities of both 2-D and 3-D working methods. 

Ultimately it is also an illusion of roundness as it is in fact flattened and compressed. 

Therefore it is like painting. 

And yet the nuances of all forms are modeled. 

Thus it is also sculpture.

Steven Assael Workshop Dec 20th & 22nd

Steven Assael's 2 Day Narrative Portrait Painting Workshop was really enjoyable! 

He showed us a new technique and everybody created a great work over the weekend! 

He is coming back to Kline Academy for another workshop soon!
