The Florentines were masters of color, form and light and all with a limited palette. Grigor who is classically trained will guide you through the secrets of creating a memorable painting using this time-tested method. Limited Space
This 5 week course focuses on first; drawing the figure in charcoal concentrating on accuracy of proportion and gesture and shadow values. After transferring the drawing to canvas, we will begin blocking in the shadows with the traditional umber under painting, and continue painting the figure in the method of the old masters. Attention to values, keying the light, and bringing the painting to a finish. We will be using a limited palette which will help you to better understand values, temperatures, and skin tones.
All levels welcome. In this 5 week course with a working, professional artist, You will learn and develop a system of painting the figure that will make your work grow leaps and bounds. Grigor brings a wonderful fusion of his Russian and Florentine influences.
