PORTRAIT PAINTING Workshop with Jan Valentin Saether

PORTRAIT PAINTING Workshop

with Jan Valentin Saether

Starts Jan 31, 6pm- 10pm -

5 sessions (1 Saturday) $350

A rare opportunity to study with a living master. Live demos.

Call for info-limited space!

Are you a former student of Jan's? Don't miss this opportunity to study with a living master artist. Ironically, the workshop will be held in Jan's old studio which once was Bruchion School of Realist Art, now Kline Academy of Fine Art. Jan's teaching changed my life and took me from a "wanna be" artist to an artist who is proud of what I create and making a living at it! I think this is an awesome opportunity and I do hope that his former students or any one who knows of his extraordinary talent will join us.

Five sessions starting Jan 31, Mon eve 6pm to 10pm, Feb 7, 6pm to 10pm, Feb 14, 6pm to 10pm, Saturday Feb. 19 11am to 5pm---Mon Eve Feb. 21, 6pm to 10pm. Cost is $350. Space limited to 12 call (310)927-2436 with credit card to register.

Grigor's painting workshop is Phenomenal!!

5 Week Florentine Style

Figure Drawing / Painting Workshop

Instructor Grigor Chilingarian,

Five week course ---$325 (includes model fee)

We are completely booked for the Grigor's Figure Drawing/Painting Workshop. And we have a huge waiting list for his next workshop. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity. Grigor's an amazing artist with a down to earth positive attitude. His Florentine technicality will make you better than what you are now. I visited to take a class for the drawing portion.

When entering his class he will tell you to stand 5 feet away from the easel (a reference point) and to gaze at the model you are drawing. From there you begin to draw the human figure in simplified Angeles, composing a counter of the human body. A process similar to sight sizing. Which increases your skills of observation. This is the prelude to the painting portion.

If your looking for a remedy to help out your figure drawing/painting needs. I highly recommend in taking his class.

Figure Drawing with Grigor Chilingarian

Greetings! We wanted to let you know that we are canceling all future Tuesday night un-instructed costume workshops. The attendance has been very low probably because there are so many other un-instructed workshops all over town, every night of the week. THE GOOD NEWS IS... Instead-- we will be offering a series of on-going, 5 week courses. The first is a live figure drawing/ painting workshop---long pose with instructor Grigor Chilingarian who also studied at The Florence Academy of Art. The weekly workshop will begin in January and we are starting the sign-up sheet now. Grigor will begin by demonstrating an academic approach to figure drawing which you will have 2 weeks to finish. The following 3 weeks will be on transferring the drawing to canvas and painting in a Florentine method developing and modeling the form, skin tones, learning about keying the light, etc. For those who are are interested in drawing only, you have the option of spending the entire 5 weeks on drawing the pose. Kline Academy Student, Xavier Gonzalez wins Artistic Achievement Award at Culver City Art Show

Every year the Culver City Art group holds their annual art exhibit
featuring over 24 artists. This year we are proud that one
of our K.A Artists, Xavier Gonzalez won the Rice -Foster-Hesnly
Artistic Achievement Award for his entry, Meditation; a master copy
based on Domenico Fetti. It is a beautifully painted canvas in cool blue tones
with masterful blends and edges. Xavier is a young artist who is working
on perfecting his technique in classical painting. I am sure this is the first of
many of awards to come for this promising artist.
