Kline Academy Instructor Scott Yeskel Up-coming Solo Show

September 30 - November 5
Reception: Sat, November 5th  | 5-7pm

Scott Yeskel, raised in the suburbs of Orange County, California and after graduating from high school, moved to San Francisco to pursue an education in the arts. He graduated from the Academy of Art College in 2002.

His work speaks to those who identify with the California lifestyle – often romantic but sometimes plagued with frustration. Yeskel’s love/hate relationship with Los Angeles’ freeways, boxy apartments and urban sprawl feed his desire to paint his environment as he sees – a jumble of mixed emotions.

Please welcome our new instructor
Miguel Gonzalez

Miguel Angel Gonzalez was born in Penjamo, Guanajuato, Mexico and raised in Oregon where he began to explore his curiosity for creating art. Through his childhood and early adulthood Gonzalez has always taken the means to continue growing as an artist.

In 2010, with the encouragement of his mentor and art instructor, Catherine Johnston, Gonzalez decided to apply
to Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) where he recently completed his Bachelors of Fine Art degree. Gonzalez has studied with several highly respectable artists in the Los Angeles area while participating in several group shows along the West coast.

MUSIC AS MUSE – EXHIBITION

RECEPTION SATURDAY OCT 8, 2016 – RSVP REQUIRED

HANGING OCTOBER 8, 2016 ~ NOVEMBER 27, 2016

In this exhibit we celebrate the impact of music on the visual arts. Many famous artists including O’Keefe, Kandinsky, Chagall and Picasso have demonstrated the harmony between music and art. Georgia O’Keefe once mused that “… music could be translated into something for the eye,” evidenced by her masterpiece ‘Music, Pink And Blue No. 2’, currently hanging at the Whitney Museum of American Art. The Adelman family of artists, along with our guest artists for this show, have followed the masters and give us an insight into their unique harmonies by selecting a song for each artwork. A custom playlist based on those songs will be playing in the gallery periodically during the show. We would love to hear your song choices for your favorite artwork.
