Kline Academy student Alisa Chao identified as a gifted student by LAUSD

Kline Academy's youngest student Alisa Chao (8) passed the Gifted / Talented Audition in Visual Arts Demonstrations and is identified by LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) as a gifted student.

She created her portfolio and practiced for her on-site drawing audition with us.

There were 1000 schools with 150 kids in the audition and only 35 students got identified.

Congratulations Alisa!!

Why take classes at Kline Academy?

With the impressionists and later contemporary artists, classical painting techniques were practically abolished. Trends changed and rather then incorporating centuries of painting knowledge, art schools basically “threw the baby out with the bath water.” During the Renaissance, painting techniques were passed down from master to student.

Cheryl Kline, founder and owner of Kline Academy is a working artist whose works are found in the collections of noted individuals and institutions around the world. She has won numerous awards including an Honorable mention from the Portrait Society of America and Salmagundi Club of New York. She studied with master artist Jan Saether at The Bruchion School of Realist Art the same building as Kline Academy is located today, and at The Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Kline has a Degree in Commercial Art from Woodbury University.
