Ira Korman's brand of contemporary realism fuses classical aesthetics and methods with contemporary themes. “Technically, with charcoal on paper, my goal is to create a convincing representation of the physical world through careful observation and an accurate depiction of light and form. But what’s most important is to communicate the emotional essence of my subject matter.”

His work has been shown nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions including New York, Los Angeles, Munich and Innsbruck. Born in New York City, Korman now lives and works in Los Angeles. His formal training includes a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design.
